Dena Carol David Stapp was born November 7,1941 to Clyde and Evangeline David in Russellville, Arkansas. She passed away peacefully on December 13,2018 in Baytown, Texas. She was 77 years old.
Dena grew up and attended school in and around Little Rock, Arkansas. On December 30, 1963 she married Bobby Dean Stapp, the love of her life. They shared 54 years together until Bobby passed away on May 28, 2017. Dena and Bobby were devoted to one another. They endured many hardships, but faced them all together. Their marriage was a beautiful example of unconditional, enduring love. They raised 3 daughters together Christie Stapp Wooten, Cynthia Stapp Johnson, and Jennifer Stapp Melendez. Dena had several jobs over the years, but found her greatest joy in being a wife and mother. She loved to cook for her family, She was also a gifted artist who loved to paint. Her paintings are treasured by her children.
Dena is preceded in death by her father, Clyde V. David, and her husband, Bobby. She is survived by her mother, Evangeline David, her brother, Kenneth A. David, and her daughters. Christie Stapp Wooten, Cynthia Stapp Johnson, and Jennifer Stapp Melendez. She is also survived by 4 grandsons, Patrick, Brian and Jonathan Wooten, and Hunter Johnson, and her great-grandson Jackson Robinson. Dena was cared for at ADL Assisted Living during the last years of her life. We are grateful for the excellent care that she received there. Dena put her faith in Jesus Christ at a young age and is now in heaven enjoying complete healing in the presence of her Savior.
