On Friday evening, November 23, 2018, Shirley Ann Wright, age 82, was called to her eternal home by her Heavenly Father. She was born on March 2, 1936, in Barksdale Field, Louisiana. She was a 1954 graduate from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas. She then attended Sacred Heart Dominican College in Houston, Texas. In her professional career, she worked as a switchboard operator at San Jacinto and Gulf Coast Hospital, as well as, Intercontinental Terminals as a Scale Clerk.
Shirley worked hard to support her family. She always put her family and others before herself because she truly lived for those around her. Being surrounded by her family and friends was what she treasured most.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Wright, parents, Glen Beck and Mildred Holder, and stepfather, Charles Bynum. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Bruce Bynum, Carol Tucker, and Peggy Butcher, along with her granddaughter, Sloan Nagy. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael and Marcella DeVille, Gary Wright, Tammy Wright, and Corey and Robin Wright. She is also survived by her sister, Glenda Herdt, along with a multitude of other family members such as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
