

Al Morris Young, 88, of Baytown was born in Baytown on October 24, 1918 and passed away Saturday, February 3, 2007 in a local hospital. He was a 1935 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and was a U. S. Navy WWII veteran, where he served with the Seabees. He retired from Exxon Chemical and was a member of Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Regina Broussard Young, wife of 58 years, Billie Marie Shaw Young, brothers-in-law, Clyde Rucker and Robert P. Kerr, and sisters-in-law, Nadyne Wilburn, June Harvey, and Agnes Young. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Steve Scott and granddaughter, Lillie Scott, all of League City; brother, Charles Young and sister, Estella Kerr, both of Baytown; sister-in-law, Kay Rucker of Pasadena; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Andy Kerr, Ben Kerr, Mike Kerr, Stan Holzaepfel, Ron Rucker, and Larry Rucker.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God Church, 1008 E. Lobit, Baytown, TX 77520 with Rev. Larry Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
Al was a faithful Christian man with a wonderful smile, many colorful stories to tell, and a very generous heart who loved being around his family and friends. He also enjoyed his garden and cooking, fishing, reading, and traveling.
