Aleta Kathleen Burris

Aleta Kathleen Barnard Burris of Baytown, Texas, went to be with our Lord on Monday, February 4, 2008. Aleta was born in Pampa, Texas, on June 29, 1917, to Harry Barnard and Lillian Williams Barnard. They preceded her along with her husband, Loyd Burris, her son Don Burris, daughter Susan Kates, grandson Nathan Burris and great-granddaughter Danielle Burris. She is survived by her son, Kent Burris, daughter, Linda Wilkins and her husband Jerry Wilkins. Survivors also include her grandchildren: Anita Bishop, Brent Burris, Delia and Mikel Honovich, Daniel Burris, Denise and Tom Myatt, Michael and Kate Wallace, Dr. Cindy Kates and Eric Hammond, Donna Burris, Don Burris, and Christina Burris. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Camie and Randy Ford, Heather Curry, Reggie Barth, Dixie Barth, Austin Barth, Robin Barth, Lauren Honovich, Reagan Wallace, Savannah Wallace, Bobby Wallace, Cassidy Wallace, Nickolas Burris, and Miranda Burris. She is also survived by her great-great grandchildren: Jacelyn Ford, Reese Ford, and Alexander Ford.

She was a member of the Cedar Bayou Baptist Church for over 60 years, an active Sunday School Teacher, and participant in many church functions and activities. She was very family oriented and enjoyed sewing and all types of fishing.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, February 6, from 5-7pm at Navarre Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Navarre Funeral home on Thursday, February 7, at 1pm. Burial will follow at Earthman's Memory Garden Cemetery.
