

Alice Mozelle (MeMa) Capps, 91, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great, great-grandmother walked victoriously through “the valley of the shadow of death” on Saturday, January 19, 2008.
Mozelle was born on May 12, 1916 to William Alfred and Alice Inez Lahman in Bedias, Texas.
Her husband, Arnett Edward Capps, preceded her in death on November 26, 1969. Also, preceding her was her father and mother Alfred and Alice Lahman, sisters Leone Morgan of Huntsville and Doris Scarmardo of Bryan.
Joyce (Leland) Collins, Darlene (Jerrel) Barnett, Eddie (Shari) Capps all of Baytown had the joy of knowing her as mother. Her grandchildren include: Tara (Rodney) Dickson, of Baytown, Trecia (Stephen) Hasley of Daphne, Ala., Brett (Angie) Barnett of Houston, Lance (Sharlene) Barnett of Mt. Belvieu, Jeffrey (Lisa) Capps of College Station and Janna (Rusty) Lamb of Highlands. The great–grandchildren are Tiffany (Chris) Bowden of Pearland, Robby Dickson of Clear Lake, Trey and Randi Lyn Barnett of League City, Brittney Beall of Houston, Taylor and Paige Barnett of Mt. Belvieu, Jeremy Capps of College Station, Marlo and Jordan Lamb of Highlands, Matthew and Justin Hasley of Daphne, Ala. The great-great grandchildren are Kendal and Kylar Bowden of Pearland. Very special friends are Mike and Sue Steele of Baytown and Tommie Barnett of League City.
Mozelle was an active member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church for many years serving in many capacities throughout Sunday School, WMU, and loved being a part of the church choir. She loved gospel music and loved to sing.
MeMa was a very talented seamstress and loved making clothes for her children and grandchildren. She was a big sports fan and loved seeing her grandchildren play ball.
She was always at their games until her health kept her away.
Special thanks go to her many friends at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church and all the caregivers at The Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Baytown and Regency Hospice Care.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Monday, January 21st from 6:00-8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be at Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Tuesday, January 22nd at 10:00am with Dr. E. Richard Steel and Dr. Mark Broussard officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Honoring the family as pallbearers will be grandsons Brett and Lance Barnett, Jeffrey Capps, Rodney Dickson, Stephen Hasley and Rusty Lamb.
