Anastacia Diaz De Martinez, 100 years old of Baytown, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, August 18, 2020. She was born in the Aguacate Ranch of Rio Verde, S.L.P,. Mexico on April 25, 1920 to Incarnación Diaz and Maria del Carmen Galvan. Anastacia moved to Baytown, Texas when she was in her 60’s to live with her daughter Paula and son-in-law, Guillermo Martinez Jr.
Anastacia’s life was spent praying, visiting the homebound, sewing, crocheting, embroidering, gardening and cooking. Her favorite recipes were molé and tamales. She especially enjoyed growing her own peppers. She never enjoyed a meal without her hot peppers. She attributed a long life to eating peppers daily. She had a servant’s heart and deep devotion to God. Anastacia had a devout prayer life. In everything she did, she prayed fervently. She asked for the Lord to bless her family and for her soul that the Lord would have mercy and compassion on her at the time of her death. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a special kind of love. Before her departure, the Lord gave her the opportunity to bless her family members one by one. She expressed her great love for them and expressed her gratitude for their visit. She was missing them so much since they had not been able to visit due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She was a long-time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Baytown, Texas. She was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society, Perpetual Adoration Society, the Virgin del Carmen Society and the Legion of Mary. Anastacia had seven children, who together gave her twenty-three grandchildren, sixty-one great-grandchildren and sixty-one great-great grandchildren.
Anastacia was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years Domingo Martinez; her parents Incarnación Diaz and Maria del Carmen Galvan Diaz; sisters, Kirina Diaz and Taurina Diaz Gonzalez; brothers, Francisco Diaz, Demetrio Diaz; sons, Domitilo Martinez (baby), Eutiquio Martinez and Ambrocio Martinez; and daughter, Agustinita Martinez, She is survived by her children, Maximiliana Martinez Suarez, Eliodora Martinez Piña, Paula Martinez and husband, Guillermo Martinez Jr.; and her twenty-three grandchildren, sixty-one great-grandchildren and sixty-one great-great grandchildren.
Honoring Anastacia as pallbearers are grandsons, Bonifacio Martinez, Alejandro Martinez, Armando Martinez, Cristian Johnson, Mathew Johnson, Jorge Martinez, and Jaime Domingo Martinez.
