Andrew Clyde ""A. C. Brooks

Andrew Clyde “A. C.” Brooks, 77, of Baytown was born March 7, 1940, in Tyler to Rev. E. B. Brooks, Sr. and Edna E. Brooks and went to be with his Lord unexpectantly on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler and Tyler Junior College. He moved to Baytown in 1968 and worked for GDS Engineering until he retired.

A. C. was a member of Second Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was a dedicated Christian man who loved his Lord and served his church and everyone he encountered. He was a deacon and served in many positions throughout the years but most of all he loved to sing in the choir and praise the Lord with his voice. On the lighter side, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed chasing that little white ball around every chance he got.

He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sister, Marjorie E. Rose; brother and sister-in-law, E. B. Jr. and Melba Brooks; nephews and nieces, Bill and Marilyn Rose, Mark and Jennifer Rose, Michael Brooks, and Cheryl and Bob Grant; and great nephews and great nieces, Andrew Rose, Solomon and Leigh Rose, Hayden Watson, Georgia Johnson, Danna and Adam Harrison, Jennifer and Wesley Gheen, Madison Watson, and Miranda Watson.

His family will receive friends Saturday, February 24, 2018, at Second Baptist Church, 6227 N. Main St., Baytown, TX 77521, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tommy Clements officiating. Graveside services will be Sunday, February 25, 3018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hopewell Cemetery in Tyler with Rev. Troy Richardson officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ken Frazier, Wayne Guest, Ron Gibson, Jonathon Groves, Steve Lowry, and Rodney Toney. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Anderson, Joe Brown, Gary Hightower, Gary Lowry, and Tommy Jones..

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund.
