

Andy worked for Brown and Root in the heavy rigging department for 20 years. Then he was the LAN manager for GCCISD for the next 20 years.
He was a member of the VFW, DAV, and The American Legion Vietnam Veterans. Andy loved fishing in his early years and gambling at casinos in his later years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Lessie Johnson; three brothers Buddy, Clifton, Charles Leon; three sisters Charlene, Ruby and Ima; and his grandson Cody Pettit.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Eileen; son Andrew ‘Andy’ and wife Jennifer of Baytown; daughter Renee’ Gunn Pettit and husband Eric Pettit of Orlando; grandchildren Victoria Johnson of Mont Belvieu, Timmy Gunn of Orlando, Mikayla Gunn of Orlando, and Makensie Steele of Dayton; great-grandchildren Elaina Rose Ballard of Mont Belvieu, Brentley Wayne Logan of Dayton, Copelynn Walker Logan of Dayton; brother Charles Johnson of Lindale; and sister Doris Irby of Mont Belvieu; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation for Andy will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521. A graveside service will occur Friday, May 31, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Palms Memorial Park, 2421 N. Hwy 146, Dayton, Texas 77535. Service will be officiated by Ronnie Webb.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Andy's memory may be made to VFW Post 912, 8204 N. Main Street, Baytown, Texas 77521. Checks may be payable to Vietnam Veterans Association 922. A donation box will be available for you to make donations at the funeral home.
