Aurora Perez Mata

Aurora (Lola) Perez Mata, 79, of Channelview, Texas, passed away January 7, 2022. She was born in Goliad, Texas, on May 11, 1942 to Seferino Perz and Eloisa Duque. She married Raymond Mata on November 22, 1969 and lasted for 53 happy years. Lola was a homemaker, loved cake decorating, arts and crafts.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; daughter Sandra Mata Ramirez; son Alex J. Mata; granddaughter, Victoria Puga and husband Edgar; grandson, Zakry Ramirez; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Bella, and Romeo. Lola is also survived by brothers, Ignacio Perez, Henry Perez, Jose L. Perez, and Carlos Perez; sisters, Antonia Jackson, Nena Castillo and husband Charlie Castillo, Norma and Lupe Martinez, and Amelia Cardoza; also by many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Alexus Farr; parents, Eloisa and Seferino Perez; brothers, Seferino Jr.; Benito Perez; sisters, Anita Espinoza, and Mary Alice Perez.

Special thanks to our god daughter Nuvia Silva-Salinas and her family; our godsons Matias Silva Jr, and Adrian Silva, their parents Mari and Matias Silva, and the rest of their family for all the support and love.

A visitation for Aurora will be held Friday, January 21, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, TX 77521. A Rosary will be recited at 10:15 am on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 827 Sheldon Rd., Channelview, TX 77530. Funeral mass will immediately follow at 11:00 am.
