Austin A. Gibbons Jr. (Arthur), 93, of Baytown, TX passed away on August 8, 2018. Arthur was a loving son, husband, and father who was born to A.A. Gibbons Sr. and Bernice A. Gibbons on January 13, 1925 in Pelly, TX. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School after returning from WWII where he served his country as a Seaman with the US Navy. He retired as an operator from Exxon Chemicals in 1986 after many years of service. Arthur was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge for 50+ years. He attended, and was a member of, Central Baptist Church for many years until he became a member of Peace Tabernacle in the early 90’s.
Arthur is preceded in death by both of his parents; three brothers; one sister; wife, Bonnie Lee Gibbons, daughter, Janice Gibbons; grandson, Christopher Gibbons; and great granddaughter, Michelle McMurray.
Arthur is survived by son, Gary Gibbons and Jane; son, Dennis Gibbons and Melissa; son, Glen Gibbons and Shelley Guo; daughter, Marcy and Dwight Zuckero; daughter, Susan Meece and Calvin Kraeer; daughter, Carolyn and William Wehling; daughter, Iylene Rodriguez; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Services have been entrusted to Earthman Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521 where a time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 10am-12pm with Funeral Services to immediately follow. Serving as pallbearers are Anthony McMurray, Gordon Meeler, Justin Kraeer, Norman Rideaux, Joseph Simien, and Paul Harder. Interment will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521.
