Barbara attended Baytown Lee High School, and went on to attend Sam Houston State University. During her time at Sam Houston State, Barbara was introduced to her roommate’s brother, Jim. Barbara and Jim were married for 46 years, and raised their family in Baytown. Together, they worshiped as members of Baker Road Baptist Church prior to their retirement in Wimberley. Barbara and Jim spent time attending antique auctions, and loved going antiquing. Barbara appreciated the beauty of flowers, and treasured her flower gardens. She cherished time spent with family during the holidays and enjoyed baking cookies for them.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Jim Carr; her parents; and her only sister Nell Murray. She is survived by 4 children, Connie Schofield and husband Bud, Edwin Carr and his wife Jeanne, Keri Brock and her husband Gary, and Danny Carr; 11 grandchildren, Allison Henderson and her husband Brad, Jason Schofield and his wife Mendy, Rachel Halford and her husband Dustan, Kyle Carr, Kristen McMahon and her husband Greg, Alysha Flood and her husband Matt, Amanda Lavender and her husband Jason, Leigh Castro and her husband Juan, Justin Hamilton, Casey Broussard and her husband Tailor, Ryan Carr and his wife Jessica; 14 great grandchildren; and brother in law, Mike Murray.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Navarre Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Navarre Funeral Home with interment to follow in Cedarcrest Cemetery in Baytown, TX.
