Barbara Jean O'Shea

She was born in Brewerton, NY, on Feb. 6, 1938, where she presided until 1974, when she moved to Texas, with her husband and daughters. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She always wanted to be a nurse and in 1980, she graduated from Lee College as an LVN. She worked at Gulf Coast Hospital until it closed, and then at San Jacinto Methodist until she retired in 1995. She loved to travel and made many trips with her sister, Beverly Everett and best friend, Eva Smith.

She belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2753 of La Porte Auxiliary. She donated quilts and stain glass pictures for a lot of the charity organizations they supported.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence O’Shea; parents, William and Beatrice Weaver and sister, Janice Gleason.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, T.J. and Jim McLain of Baytown, and Michelle and Tom Carr of Devers; grandchildren and their spouses, Jeremy and Katy McLain of Baytown, Mickichelle and David Sanders of Baytown, Katie Neri Perez of Crosby, Courtney Carr of Devers, and Chris Carr of Houston; great grandchildren, Evan and Grace McLain, Brayden and Khloe Sanders, Alexis and Neri Perez, Jr. of Crosby, and Bruce Carr; sister, Beverly Everett of N. Syracuse, NY, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at 7:00 p.m., at Earthman Funeral Home.
