Bernice Grimes

Bernice Grimes passed away Thursday, February 10, 2005 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 1, 1933 in Kirbyville, Tx. to Albert and Adie West. She was retired with the Merisol Company as an accounting clerk. She was a former member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed the Highlands Senior Center. She was also a member of the Porcelain Arts Guild.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Walt Grimes, and sister, Juanice Lumpkin. She is survived by sons & daughters-in-law, Steve & Tammy Grimes of Crosby, Keith & Tammy Grimes of Baytown, daughter & son-in-law, Ginger & James Elmore of Marionville, Missouri, sisters & brother-in-law, Bonice & Fred McBride of Kirbyville, Mary Smith of Highlands, brother & sister-in-law, Harold & Dixie West of Kirbyville, grandchildren, Chris Forse, Shane & Tracy Grimes, Tiffany Forse, Selby Grimes, Joshua Grimes, Cody Grimes, Brandy Grimes, & Stephanie Grimes, great aunt, Lessie Broom of Baytown, nieces, Glenda Latham and Jana Cross, and nine other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, 11:00 am, at Navarre Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tommy King officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Joshua Grimes, Cody Grimes, Shane Grimes, Selby Grimes, Chris Forse, and Chance Smith. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
