Bessie “Betty” Eula Maxwell, 90, of Baytown, went to be with the Lord on Friday March 23, 2007. She was born November 21, 1918 in Kentwood, LA. She was a homemaker who raised four boys. She was a member of Calvary Temple. She loved to cook, and bake bread, and crochet. When she moved to Texas 50 years ago, her whole family followed her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David E. Maxwell.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Lee Travis and wife Judy, Lidge Travis and wife Brenda, J.D. Travis and wife Bonnie, Alton Travis; grandchildren, Darryl Travis, Jaime Niemann, Alicia Capps; great-grandchildren, Ashton Travis, Austin Travis, David Travis, and Brant Capps.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday 2:30 p.m. at Calvary Temple, officiated by Dr. William McKnight. Burial will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Greensburg Cemetery in Greensburg, LA.
