Born on January 21, 1943 in Gary, Indiana, Bette was a long-time resident of Baytown, where she lived a life deeply cherished by her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. Those who knew her will remember her most for her selfless nature, immense generosity, and devotion to her family and community. Bette was a faithful confidante and friend, who never turned away anyone in need.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billie Efferson; her mother, Margaret Batusic; her biological father, William Jones; her adoptive father, Stephen Batusic; and her brother, John Batusic.
Bette is survived by her daughter, Janet Lonneberg, and her husband, Kirk; granddaughter, Tina Robinson, and her partner, Jarrod; grandson, Bennie Robinson Jr., and his fiancée, Alexandria; and granddaughter, Dawn Lonneberg. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren, Everly and Waylon Robinson (and their mother, Sara Costlow), and Grayson, Gunnar, and Hollis Lonneberg (and their parents, Soren and Lindsay Lonneberg); brother, William Batusic and wife Debbie; sister-in-law, Cindy Batusic; as well as numerous adored nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77521. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Navarre Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery, in Baytown.
