It started with a wonderful Christian childhood given by Harold and Lucille Burch which included five sisters. Dorothy Evilo Burch, Barbara Ann Burch, Patricia Stanford, Jackie Lee Bomer (Billy) and Margie Dee Serio (Gary).
After graduating from REL in 1957, Bette married James Gwynn Timmons who gave her a life filled with love. The marriage included three girls, Stacy Flower (Wes), Pauline Timmons, and Jamye Lyons (Chad).
The family grew with the addition of a nephew, David Stanford (Aimee).
Her children gave Bette beautiful and successful grandchildren, Whitney Flower, Scott Flower, Jacob Brown and Charley Bonnin (Blake) who just added to her joy.
Bette loved her church family at Second Baptist Church where she worshipped for over 45 years. During that time, she taught 3rd grade, sang in the choir, served as treasurer and on several committees. Most recently, she enjoyed hosting Tuesday Night Bible Study in her home and volunteering in Guest Services demonstrating her life filled with Christ, love and joy. She also served as Docent Coordinator at Baytown Historical Society where she enjoyed working with a great group of women who give so much to students through narrated tours of historical Baytown landmarks at the Republic of Texas Plaza.
A private graveside service will be held to lay Bette to rest beside her husband, the love of her life. Her daughters would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to those who love our mother for your support.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Baytown Historical Preservation Association (P.O. Box 1244, Baytown, TX 77522).
