Betty Gene Edwards Horn

Betty Gene Edwards Horn was born on February 7, 1941 in Donaldsonville, Louisiana to Elmore Elmo, Sr. and Ora Opal Daniel Edwards. She passed away peacefully at home on June 25, 2015 with her family by her side. Betty married James Edward ""Jim"" Horn on July 6, 1962 in Thibodaux, Louisiana. She is survived by her husband Jim; sisters, Carolyn Sue Edwards Moss and husband, Larry of Lafayette, Louisiana; Marilyn Marlene Edwards Myers of Kingwood, Texas; and brother, Elmore ""Eddie"" Elmo Edwards, Jr. and wife, Tommie Jo of Converse, LA.

Betty graduated with her Associates Degree in Nursing from Lee College and later received her R.N. Degree. She worked at Princeton Hospital in Princeton, NJ for two years and worked in the emergency room of Baytown hospitals from 1976-2004, during which time served as the Director of the Emergency Room at Humana Hospital.

Betty is also survived by her children, James Kevin Horn and wife, Carrie, David Lee Horn and wife, Angie and Lori Jean Horn Hudgins and husband Bruce, all of Beach City, TX. She has nine grandchildren, Benjamin James Horn and wife, Megan, Christopher Lynn Horn, Leanne Elizabeth Horn, Alyssa Nicole Horn, Michael Edward Horn, Emily Grace Hudgins, Tucker Gregory Hudgins, Connor Garrett Hudgins, and Jake Patrick Horn. The family would like to thank Harbor Hospice for their loving care.

Visitation will be Friday, June 26, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, June 27 2015 at First Baptist Church, 505 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, Texas with Rev. Bill Yowell officiating. Burial will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens in Baytown, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the church of your choice.

Pallbearers will be Benjamin James Horn, Christopher Lynn Horn, Michael Edward Horn, Tucker Gregory Hudgins, Connor Garrett Hudgins, and Jake Patrick Horn.
