Blanch E. Massingill

She lived in several cities in Texas and Louisiana before returning to Baytown. Blanch obtained her beautician license in the early 60's and worked at a couple of beauty shops before opening her own shop at her home in the early 70's.

Known as a hard worker, she was always providing for her family. She closed the shop in 1992 following a heart attack. Through the years Blanch liked to fish, camp, and work in the yard. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as ""Nana"", ""Gran-gran"" and ""Granny Blanch."" She always made sure whoever was at her home at Christmas always went away with a gift. Blanch loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Oma Elizabeth Brown; father, Noah Whitton; son, Danny Massingill; grandson, Jason Jones; granddaughter, Margaret Sweeten; brothers, Marshall Brown, Dean Brown, and Wayne Brown; sisters, Betty Kressley, June Meadows, and Lucille Allen and her husband Ira ""Dog"" Massingill.

Survivors include sons, Joseph Wade Jones and his wife Betti of Sweeney and David Wayne Jones and his wife Sandra of Baytown; daughters, Angel Laverne Cox and her husband David of The Woodlands, Carol Jean Savage and her husband Frank of Pueblo West, Colorado and Patsy Dean Johnson of Tomball; brothers, Bill Brown and his wife Dee of Oak Harbor, Washington and David Brown and his wife Gloria of Huffman; sisters, Paula West of Alvin and Shelia Brown of Mt. Pleasant; eleven grandchildren, Melody Jones, Brian Jones, Rachel Jones, Truman Cox, III, Sarah Rhea, Allison Malek, Frank Savage, Jancy Savage, Ronnie Sweeten, Terrie Plata and Jared Sweeten; twelve great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Navarre Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 28, 2011 at Cedarcrest Cemetery with Rev. Bill Yowell officiating.
