Bobbie Joe Mathews

Bobbie Joe Mathews, 72, of Baytown, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 in Baytown. He was born September 27, 1941 in Hearne, Texas to his late parents, Horace Mathews and Leona Burts Mathews. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle and will be greatly missed.

Mr. Mathews was a longtime resident of Baytown, former resident of Channelview, a retired forklift operator from the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Company, a U.S. Army veteran and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ray Mathews.

Survivors include his sons, Bobby Mathews and his wife Maggie of Spring, Scott Mathews and his wife Adrian of Atascocita and Jeff Mathews and his wife Elaine of Dayton; grandchildren, Molly Sun and Zachary, Ty, Taylor, Elizabeth and Timothy Mathews; brother, Billie Mathews of Baytown and nephew and nieces, Billy, Terri and Sherri.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2014 at the funeral home with Dr. Tim Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Billy Mathews, Zachary Mathews, Ty Mathews, Timothy Mathews, Ken Terry, and Stephen Cave.
