

Bobby Jack Sheats, 88, of Baytown was born December 6, 1926, to Clota Rebecca Sheats in Tyler, TX and set sail Thursday, March 5, 2015, to the Great Golden Golf Course in Heaven! Bobby Jack joined the United States Navy when he was 17 and proudly served in WWII, Korean and did 3 tours in Vietnam. He began his career as a UDT and was blown 60 feet into the air dismantling a bomb and was blinded in his right eye at the end of WWII but continued on as a Machinist Mate and retired after 28 years as a Master Chief Petty Officer. He loved this country and always shed a tear for anything red white and blue. Bobby Jack was an avid golfer and spent the better part of his life making memories with many pals and was especially proud of his accomplishments on the greens!
He was preceded in death by his son, James Bruce Sheats on July 18, 1995, and they are both now in Heaven celebrating their reunion. Bobby Jack is survived by his daughter, Donna ""Dondi"" Marie Sheats; stepdaughter, Georgena Diane Kirby; grandson, Joshua Wayne Sheats-Gonzalez; and granddaughter, Naomi Raine Sheats. Bobby Jack is also survived by his cousins, Billy Sue Wilson, Deana Marie Crocker, Jerry Sheats, Jimmy Sheats, Kenneth Sheats, and Kathy Sheats and countless other wonderful family members and friends.
His ""Celebration of Life"" will be held at Navarre Funeral home on March 21, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. followed by Bobby Jack's favorite meal of Pinto Beans, Rice and Sweet Cornbread and Sweet Tea and visiting at his home following the memorial service.
