Brenda Agnes Powell

Brenda Powell Morris, 73, of Orange, TX, passed away on January 9, 2017. She was born on August 19, 1943 and raised in Baytown but lived in several different states and was living in Tumwater, WA at the time of her passing.

Brenda was a member of Gateway Church in Tacoma, WA and volunteered at the church foodbank. She was also affiliated with Maranatha Church in Mt. Belvieu, TX. She worked in the early years as a dispatcher for a cab company. She was a Mary Kay consultant and a homemaker.

Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell F. Morris; mother, Era Stiles; father, Bruce Powell; brothers, Bernard Murphy, Ralph Murphy, and Jimmy Blair; and sister, Margaret Gibbons.

She is survived by her sister, Lynda Hyde and husband Randy of Crosby, TX; two children, Sonny Morris and wife Anna and Suzanne Vasquez and husband Sergio, all of WA; 8 grandchildren, Athena, Olivia, Ben, Shawn, Shane, Travis, Joy, and Chris; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Earthman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Earthman Funeral Home. Burial will be at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, TX.
