Carolyn Hebel Emanuel

Carolyn was a graduate of LaPorte High School (class of 1960). After her high school graduation, Carolyn worked for LaPorte ISD for two years, and was also employed by Goose Creek Independent School District for over 25 years. During her career, Carolyn worked as a school crossing guard, a teacher’s aide and special education clerk before retiring.

On March 17, 1961, Carolyn met the love of her life on a blind date and married Robert Eugene Emanuel five months later on August 11th. Carolyn and Robert loved traveling and meeting new people. Some of their adventures took them to Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Holland, Canada and Ireland. Carolyn was an active member of St. John’s Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and adored her two granddaughters. Carolyn really loved needlepoint, knitting and especially crocheting blankets for family and friends.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Robert Eugene Emanuel, and her parents, Richard I. Hebel and Edna Earl Hebel Wheeler.

Carolyn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Emanuel and Elizabeth Suiter of Port Neches, daughter and son-in-law, Bill and Michelle Morris of Pearland and granddaughters Julia Emanuel of College Station and Melanie Morris of Pearland.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, TX 77521 on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Grand View Memorial Park, 8501 Spencer Hwy., Pasadena, TX 77505 on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10:00 am.
