It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Eugene (“Gene”) Wueste, a beloved father, cherished friend, and a remarkable soul who touched the lives of many. He peacefully departed this world on September 23, 2023 at the age of 72.
Born on October 27, 1950, Gene was a man of unwavering strength and resilience. Throughout his life, he faced numerous challenges with a spirit of determination and courage. As a father, he was a source of love and support to his two children, Christine and Eric, and despite life's ups and downs, his dedication to them never wavered.
Gene had a passion for camping, fishing, traveling throughout the US and several locations abroad, taking historical tours and researching his family’s heritage. He pursued his hobbies with enthusiasm and shared with those he held dear. His warm smile, sense of humor, and kind-hearted nature made him an unforgettable presence in the lives of many.
In addition to his children, Gene is survived by his partner Lois Hooper, brother John Dozier, daughter-in-law Crystal Wueste and grandson Jacob Wueste, and a host of cousins and friends who will always remember him fondly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 5:00-8:00PM at the Earthman Baytown Funeral Home. Also, a celebration of Gene's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the same location. Following the service, burial will be at the Lummus Cemetery in Buffalo, Texas at 2:30 PM. Friends and family are invited to join us in honoring his memory and sharing stories of the wonderful moments we were fortunate to have with him.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Rollingbrook Fellowship Church or charity of your choice.
As we bid farewell to Gene Wueste, we find solace in the memories we shared, knowing that he is at peace. May his soul find eternal rest, and may his legacy of love and resilience continue to inspire us all.
