

Clenton John McMicken passed away Sunday, June 5, 2005 in a Tyler hospital. He was born November 11, 1931 in Pelly, Texas to James and Lottie McMicken. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a life long member of Central Baptist Church. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1949. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Texas in 1958 and did post graduate work at the University of Houston. He started in the oil business as a roustabout for Grace Oil in the Goose Creek Oil Field. After college, he worked for Texaco as a geophysicist and retired in 1988 after 30 years with Texaco. Following his retirement, he focused on his life long interests of gardening, fishing, church work, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 1 sister. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Estelle McMicken of Baytown, son & daughter-in-law, Bryan & Vickie McMicken of Baytown, daughter & son-in-law, Marlene Kay & Ron Alderman of Dallas, brother & sister-in-law, Stanley & Joan McMicken of Katy, sisters-in-law, Marcille McMicken of Amarillo, Charlotte McMicken of El Paso, Gladys Stremmel of Clear Lake, brother-in-law, Will Oliver of Baytown, grandchildren, Lauren & Amanda McMicken, Leila, Elisa, & John Alderman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, 10:00 am at Navarre Chapel with Rev. Billy Joe Tate and Rev. Eddie Norris officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
