Colby ran around with a bunch of us back in the late 60s and early 70s in our younger, wilder, carefree days.  What I remember most about him was when he and my sister let all the dogs out of the dogcatcher truck when he had just turned 18.  From his obituary I see that he still loved dogs.  He went to jail for that one - we should have more like him.  What a character - my condolences to the family.

There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn, and people we can't live without but have to let go.  Remember, death leaves a hearache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

     You and your family have suffered more losses this past year than what our human spirits should ever be expected to endure.

I knew Colby from school days in Baytown and we were Brother in Laws for a few years in the early 70s. He was,a pretty good surfer back in the day,and an even better guitar picker. Most of all ,he was a fun guy to hang out with. My thoughts and prayers go out to Family and Friends. Keep rocking old buddy!

I am so very sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting your dad in Dallas this year, and was unaware he was not well (although he was in a wheelchair) until I ran across a post on the Steel Guitar Forum with a comment about being sick.

We started a prayer chain, and asked that he keep us posted. He even uploaded pictures of his head and also one with the mask he wore during his treatments.

He always made sure to comment on his family's awesome support. He even said he had a standing ""date"" with his granddaughter after his treatment, and that they did arts and crafts together.

Often we hear from families after one of our members passes on - and always they comment on how much their loved one appreciated the prayers and support they received from their Forum friends. Please tell your mother that it was an honor and a privilege to pray for your father. I pray that his passing was peaceful, and that each of you was able to say good-bye in your own private way.

We are so sorry for your lost, Don always talked about working with Colby and how much enjoyed his company, you will be in our prays.

Colby was a good friend and always came out and supported me anytime one of my bands was in the area--we jammed,drank and rode Harleys together and it was a honor to be one of his pallbearers--my prayers go out to Teri,family and friends
