Crystalia Jewel Nowlin- Jenkins of Baytown Texas passed away September 28th, 2021 at the age of 68. Jewel was born in Bryan, Texas on May 9th, 1953 to Dorothy Lyn Benford and Lester Nowlin. Jewel was married to her second husband Elmer E Jenkins for 42 years. Jewel was also married to her first husband Chester Lee Gardner to which they had two children before he passed away in a car accident. Jewel had a career in human resource for 34 years for Hercules, Basell, LyondellBasell in Pasadena Texas. Jewel gave her life to Christ at an early age. She attended Peaceful Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Bryan, TX and Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Baytown, TX.
Jewel was a loving, devoted and caring mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Jewel was loved and cherished for her beautiful spirit. She cherished her family and was respected for her quiet strength. She had a passion for sewing and baking certain items. She loved watching movies and the Olympics. Most of all Jewel enjoyed going to the beach putting her feet in the pretty blue water and spending time with Nova her granddaughter’s dog.
Jewel was preceded in death by her second husband Elmer E. Jenkins, mother-in-law Mavis Jenkins-Sharkey, her first husband Chester Gardner, mother-in-law Hellen Faye Stevenson-Woods, mother Dorothy Lyn Nowlin, father Lester Nowlin, nephew Marcus Darnell Nowlin, grandparents, several uncles, aunts and a few cousins.

Gardner of Baytown, TX, granddaughter JaNae Jackson of Baytown, TX, four sisters Verma Bailey (Tim) of Atlanta, GA, Valesta Horton (Bert) of Miami, FL, Ann Craig (Wayne) of Atlanta, GA, Kay Burnett (Rod) of Katy, TX, four brothers Lester Nowlin (Pam) of Dallas, TX, Darnell of Nowlin of Atlanta, GA, Lorenza Nowlin (Yolanda) of Bryan, TX, Ernest Nowlin of Bryan, TX, Aunt Mary, Uncle Milton Nowlin, host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation for Crystalia will be held Friday, October 15, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521. A celebration of life will occur Friday, October 15, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521. A committal service will occur Friday, October 15, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521.
