Dale Ray Bertrand

Dale Ray Bertrand, Sr., 49, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at his residence. He was born on September 8, 1977, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Gervey Larue and the late Joan Lee. Dale proudly graduated from La Grange High School, in Lake Charles. He made career in the oil and gas industry where he quickly excelled into a supervisor role. Dale married the love of his life, a young woman by the name of Denicha Whitlock, they built a beautiful life together while raising their four amazing children.

Dale pursued many interests, some of which included his love for bowling, playing pool and traveling. He also enjoyed spending the day at the beach hanging out listening to music and fishing. Family time meant everything to Dale. His greatest memories were of those times when everyone would get together to share a good meal he had prepared. When he wasn’t with his wife and children, he could often be found outside doing yardwork. In his free time, he would sit back and watch his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys, play on the television.

Dale was preceded in death by his mother Joan; his brothers Jessie and Reggie Mills. He leaves behind his loving wife Denicha; his children Karson Whitlock, Dale Jr., Jesse and Rome, Claire, Daionica and Jaynia Bertrand, his father Gervey Larue; his siblings Dewayne Mills, Herbert Mills and wife Kafayat, Janice Mills, Ronald Mills, and Joshuary Bertrand; his aunts Peggy Anderson, Leilani Jones, and Susan Lee; his uncle Lenroy Lee and wife Belinda; his sisters-in-law Sandra Mills and Relina Mills; his numerous nieces and nephews; and his many cousins; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, US, on October 3, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. A Funeral will follow at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, US, on October 3, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
