

Dan Ross Ellis, 65, of Conroe, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018, from complications of diabetes. Dan was born in Houston on September 22, 1952, to James Wallace Ellis and Wanda Vincent Ellis. He grew up in Baytown and graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School in 1971. He attended and graduated from Lee College in Baytown. He worked as an instrument technician in various chemical plants along the Houston Ship Channel, within view of the San Jacinto Monument the entirety of his career.
He had an especially close relationship with his grandfather, Sam Vincent and served as his caregiver for many years.
Dan was an aficionado of regional Texas music including The Blues, Rockabilly, Zydeco and Southern Rock. He was an avid collector of albums, posters and guitars. He was a lifetime member of the Harley Davidson Ownership Group. He loved all things Texas, including seafood, Tex-Mex food and Mexican Folk Art. He was patriotic to his State and Country.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Wallace Ellis. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Ellis of Conroe; stepdaughters and husbands, Veronica Miller and Robert Bosserman of Portland, Oregon, Kathryn Miller and Cody Brooks of Cleveland, and Sandie Raines of Mammoth Lakes, California. He is also survived by his mother, Wanda Ellis Mitchell and sister and brother-in-law, Jan Ellis and Arnoldo Cuellar, all of Fredericksburg; and nephews, Xavier Cuellar of Portland and Daniel Cuellar of London, England.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Friday, August 17, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Brooks, Arnoldo Cuellar, Xavier Cuellar, Steven Guidry, Zach Hamstra, and Ricky Scott. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Ballard, Jim Callum, Alphonso Cano, Algene Fayle, Gary Goerlich, Robert Parker, David Rodgers, and Michael Shelton.
Dan will be remembered as a dedicated worker, loyal friend, and devoted son, husband and father. If you wish to remember him, please make donations in his name to local artists and musicians.
