David Chavez

David “D-Low” Lee Chavez, 36, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026. He was born in Victoria, Texas, on May 29, 1990, to Annie Maria Garcia and the late Raymond P. Chavez. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, class of 2008. During high school David excelled in football. After graduation he went on to obtain his associate’s degree from The Art Institute.

David pursued many interests, some of which included playing video games, and watching football. He was a free spirit and could often be found riding around listening to music and smoking. David was a jokster, he enjoyed making others laugh. He could easily light up a room with just his presence, as he was naturally funny. Throughout life’s challenges, David never gave up. He was a true fighter and worked hard to overcome his health issues. Although he is no longer here on earth with us, his memory will always remain with those who loved him.

David was preceded in death by his father Raymod P. Chavez; his brothers Roman Gabriel Chavez, Sr., John Anthony Chavez, Raman Chavez, Jr., and Roman Chavez I; his sister Christina Marie Chavez; his grandparents Dominga and Jose Hernandez; his great-grandmother Delia Garcia; his cousins Jose Cantu, Jo Angel Hernandez, and Tony Hernandez, Jr. He leaves behind to cherish his memory the love of his life his wife Maria Chavez; his 14 grandchildren who he loved deeply; his parents Annie Hernandez and husband Pedro; his grandmother who was like a mom to him Maria “Meme” Garcia who he loved more than anything in this world: his siblings Dominga and Arcadia Hernandez, Pedro Hernandez, Jr., and Amy and Linda Chavez; his numerous nieces and nephews; and his many cousins; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Cortez, Johnathan Cantu, Khalid Mobley, Torell Bush aka “Black”, Tate Isaac, Roman G. Chavez, Jr., Antonio Chavez, Benard Battel (bmob).

Visitation will be held at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, US, on October 15, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by the Funeral at the same location from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A Graveside service will take place at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, US, on October 15, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
