

David Wayne Kimmey, 51, of Baytown, Texas lost his battle with Renal Cell Cancer on July 3, 2011 at home in the gentle arms of family and friends. David was born to Tommy and Avanell in Baytown on August 29, 1959. He was their middle son. David graduated from Ross S. Sterling High School in 1977 and then married the love of his life, Cindy in February of 1982 and they began to raise a family. David enjoyed life and always worked and played hard. His life's passions were his family, hunting and ranching. As did his father and his children, David showed livestock all over Texas. He had a passion for show steers and continued to raise American cattle through his breeding program at the 7K Ranch in Baytown. He also loved hunting in Del Rio and spending time there with family and many of his life-long friends. David will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Joe Kimmey. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Cindy Garner Kimmey and their children, son, James Kimmey and his love, Lori Bryan, all of Baytown and daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Mario Moncivais, and his only grandchild, the sunshine in his life, 5-month old granddaughter, Jacee Diane Moncivais, all of Beach City; mother, Avanell Kimmey of Baytown; older brother, Kenneth Kimmey of the Bahamas and younger brother Kelley Kimmey, and wife Anne, of Justin; plus many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
David's family will receive friends at on Wednesday, July 6th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and his funeral services will be Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, and then a celebration of David's life will continue at the Kimmey home at 7K Ranch for family and friends.
David was fortunate to be rich in friendship and family throughout his life. Bobby Garner will officiate and Gary Clifton will deliver the eulogy with additional words from James Kimmey, and music will be presented by Tracy Hood from one of David's favorite bands, Braid. Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Hall, Kenny Rogers, Lawrence Richard, Sammy Hotchkiss, Donnie Massengale, Terry Ainsworth, Brian Robbins, and Dwayne Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be Kim Blanscet and Joe Trahan, along with his many Lyondell/Equastar and RWD friends. In addition, Ryan Hotchkiss, Matt Walters, James Kimmey, Mario Moncivais, Kristopher Kimmey, Steve Auld, Bryan Garner, and Quentin Garner will also serve as honorary pallbearers.
David's family would like to extend a special thanks to the team at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. In lieu of usual remembrances contributions can be made in David's memory to the Baytown Youth Fair and Livestock Show at P.O. Box 621, Baytown, Texas 77522, directed specifically to the auction buying committee, ""The Heifer Club"" as David had been an honorary heifer at many fair auctions which was one of the many ways he supported FFA and 4H student agricultural projects.
