Deanne Hartman, 77, was born Margo Deanne German on May 2, 1939 in Houston and passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 in her Channelview home surrounded by loving friends and family. A lifelong Houstonian, she attended Reagan High School. She was a singular spirit with a zest for life and a dedication to living it unapologetically to the fullest. She was one of a kind and did it her own way.
She was a generous provider of delicious food, fun cocktails and loved entertaining, repeatedly letting you know the thing she was serving you in that moment was ""the best thing you ever had in your life!"" Her yard and gardens were always a great source of pride and happiness. She loved to travel and did so frequently, logging lots of hours cruising on the open seas and rivers of Europe. She loved music of all kinds and to dance and never sat still for long. Deanne was a magnetic presence in any room she walked into with her beauty and infectious sense of humor.
Her early professional career was in banking, having worked at Bank of Texas, Texas Commerce Bank and Galleria Bank. Deanne was an entrepreneur, who co-founded successful companies Uvalde Liquors in 1980 and A.R.R.O.W. Recycling in 1997. She retired in 2009.
Deanne was preceded in death by her parents, Sam German and Juanita Rikard, her two children Susan Quast Abney and Butch Quast, stepdaughter Connie Hartman Flores and her best friend and loving husband, Louis Hartman. She is survived by son-in-law and wife Tim and Susan Abney; granddaughter Taylor Katitlan Abney and Shawn Tillis; stepson Michael Hartman and husband Nick Mayo; sister and brother-in-law, Sheryl and Henry Boulware, sister and brother-in-law Medina and Rev. John Ford, sister Lili Rigney, and brother Fred Peek; stepdaughters Deborah Linnard and Nona Hartman; grandchildren Esmeralda Flores, Stephanie and Robert Loveland, Chris Flores, Aimee Stephens, Jason Linnard, Brandon Linnard; great grandchildren, nieces; Brittney and Michael Settles, Davita and Mike Brading, Portland and Larry Muston, nephews; Wesley and Cristina Ford and Kendall Ford, and so many wonderful friends and family who brought her such happiness.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday, June 22, 2016, beginning at 3:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. John Ford officiating.
