Diann Jones Hazlett

Diann Jones Hazlett, 51, of Beach City was born November 6, 1954 in Mobile, AL and passed away Friday, March 3, 2006, at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. God called His special angel home after a long courageous battle with cancer. She had an infectious smile and never met a stranger.

She was a 1973 graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School and retired as a Maintenance Analyst at Exxon.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedarcrest Cemetery with Rev. Sam Hughes officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Anderson, Sherman Davis, Michael Repp, John Church, Kevin Turner and Kevin Bonifant.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Morris Jones and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hazlett and is survived by her husband of 32 years, Vaughn Lathan Hazlett, of Beach City; daughter and son-in-law, Angela Kay and Jonathan Patrick Root of Baytown; mother, Dorothy Cooper Jones of Baytown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Albert Burns of Driftwood and Debbie and Gordon Monk of Baton Rouge, LA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy and Sherman Davis of Baytown; niece, Meredith Monk of Baton Rouge, LA; nephews, Steve and Donald Monk of Baton Rouge, LA; great niece, Heather Cosgrove of Baytown; and her loveable grand dog, Sandie “Pooper” of Baytown.

Her family would like to say thank you to the Cell therapy support staff, Cancare support group, Faith Community Hospice and Professional Caretaker staff, and last a very special thank you to our loving friend, Margaret Church.
