On Saturday morning, October 4, 2014, Donisse Downing Kupec passed from this life into the eternal presence of her Lord and Savior with her daughter by her side. Donisse was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul, her parents, O. E. and Reba Downing, and her sister, Jean Gregersen. She is survived by her loving daughter, Marijane Mosley and husband Danny, her grandson David ""Bo"" Ellis and wife Patricia, her brother O.E. Downing, Jr. and wife Beth, brother-in-law Ed Gregersen, and many friends and relatives.
Donisse, born in Abilene, Texas in 1934, was raised in Baytown and was a 1951 graduate of Cedar Bayou High School. Most of her working career was spent at Exxon, from which she retired in 1996. She and Paul shared 56 wonderful years of marriage together until his death in 2011.
Proud of who and where she came from, Donisse was the happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Witty and always on point, any gathering was guaranteed to be fun because of her presence. Her legacy as a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother is a testament to her strong spirit and character.
She is in the arms of Jesus and reunited with all the people she loved who have gone before her. Without a doubt, she will be greatly missed and we will wrap our hearts with the many wonderful memories we created with her.
Donisse's family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Kakwan, Hospice Brazos Valley, and St. Joseph Manor for the professional, respectful, and compassionate care she received.
