Dora was the valedictorian of her high school class in Kermit, Texas, where at 5'11"" she was a star player on the team that went on to win the state championship. She married Pete in 1938 and they were married for 49 years when he passed away. The focus of her life was always loving and caring for her family and friends, but she also had many hobbies. Dora loved going to and holding garage sales, collecting old bottles, antiques, coins, rocks, and many, many, many more things. She loved seashells and enjoyed making beautiful seashell arrangements. She was a wonderful artist and won first place in the Pasadena Strawberry Festival art show with a portrait that she had painted of her grandson, Matthew.
She loved the Lord and was a member of Bayshore Baptist Church in LaPorte for many years before moving to Baytown to live with Linda and Lendell. She then moved her letter to Second Baptist Baytown but was only able to attend for a short time before her health prevented her from getting around. She loved the Small Group meetings held weekly in her home and all those who attended and treated her with such love.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ruby Cobb; husband, R.W. ""Pete"" McClellan; brothers, Clarence and Robert Cobb; sisters, Nora Dexter and Nettie Martin-Cross; grandchildren, Brenda Lockler and Matthew Henderson; great-grandson, Rodney Delano; son-in-law, Carl ""Hokie"" Holcombe and nephews, Tommy Cobb and Jerry McClellan.
