

Dorothy Jean Bailey, 87, of Baytown was born September 29, 1927, in Baton Rouge, LA and passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014, in a local healthcare facility. She was a longtime member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, where she was involved in numerous activities. She enjoyed bicycling and was a dedicated and wonderful mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Melvin Ray Bailey. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Buddy James of Palestine, Patti and Bob Crowley of Houston, and Melanie and Terry Chavez of Boerne; grandchildren, Laura and Caleb Rackley, Matthew and Valerie Johnson, Elizabeth Wilson, and Madeline, Brooke, and Lisa Chavez; and great grandchildren, Remi and Abigail Johnson and Lila Rackley.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Monday, December 1, 2014, beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a funeral to follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Mike Proctor officiating. A private graveside service will follow.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to St, Mark's United Methodist Church Building Fund or Memorial Fund, 3811 North Main St., Baytown, TX 77521.
