Dorothy Simpson Graham

Surrounded by loved ones, Dorothy Simpson Graham, of Baytown, passed away at a health care facility in Webster on Sunday, March 4, 2007. She was born On April 3, 1919 in Bryan, Texas. She was the daughter of Joseph Erwin and Laura Simpson.

Dorothy was a licensed Realtor and Co-owner of Graham Consultants with her husband Otis Graham. She was a member of the National Association of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, Houston Association of Realtors, Past President Bay Area Board of Realtors, Member of Baytown Symphony Orchestra Board, Country Club Garden Club, and Cub Scout Den mother for son John’s Cub Scout Den. Dorothy along with husband Otis was very involved in First Baptist Church serving as Sunday School Teachers for the Teenage Classes. After moving to their new home they joined Memorial Baptist where they attended for many years and were very involved in this church.

Dorothy loved to decorate whether decorating for a party or decorating the entire interior of her home. Her life revolved around her love of music. She loved to sing and was an avid dancer. In her younger years, she won many dance contests at Texas A. & M. University and could jitterbug as good or better than anyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Madeley Graham; parents, J. Erwin and Laura Simpson; and twin sister, Doris Daniel. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Barbara Graham of Baytown; grandson and wife, John E. and Genie Graham of Baytown; and great-grandchild due in May. Her extended family include Joe and Stacy Johnson, Daniel Prange, Camie Johnson, Samantha Kelly and Taylor Johnson.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. at Cedarcrest with Rev. Brad Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
