

Dorothy Louise Mercer, 72, of Dayton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday March 2, 2006. She was born in Nokomis, Alabama August 5, 1933. She was a housewife who raised two boys and loved to cook. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Esca and Gussie Bryan; sister, Miriam Bryan White; brothers, Enos Bryan, Murray Bryan, Moyce Bryan, and Esca Bryan Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Samuel Mercer; children, Byron Mercer and wife JoEllen, Bruce Mercer and Arlene Thorton; grandchildren, Kelsie Mercer, Andrea Mercer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home, officiated by Bishop Arless Glass. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
