Dorothy Ann Northrup

Dottie and Don were married for 64 years. During this time Dottie was a member of the Eastern Star Aransas Pass #162 OES for 55 years. She dedicated most of her time raising her four children. Once we were grown she returned to school and became a nurse. We were all so proud of her and her accomplishment. She spent her career working for San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. She and dad retired to ""The Woods"" in Segno Texas. This was their dream to have a little place in the country. Here is where she was able to enjoy her love for bird watching and gardening. She and dad would sit at the dining room table over coffee and watch the birds cluster at the feeder. The front porch was the place to watch her favorite humming birds whiz by. Mom loved watching and waiting for her flowers to bloom. Her bearded Iris and roses were her favorites.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Odell Northrup; son, Donald Olen Northrup and her sisters, Peggy, Mary and Betty.

She is survived by daughters, Renee Richard and husband Shawn of West Hartford, CT, Peggy Baker and husband, Bobby, and son Shawn Northrup and wife, Michele all of Baytown; grandchildren Craig Bowman and wife Becky of Berlin, CT, Laura Bowman and husband, Carson of San Francisco, CA, Mimi Richard of Arlington, VA, Maddie Richard of West Hartford, CT, Bobby Lee Baker, Kevin Baker and wife, Robbyn, Nicholas Northrup and Ryan Northrup all of Baytown, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous friends.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff of San Jacinto ICU and Crisis Care Units and Natalie through hospice for the loving care shown to Dorothy throughout her illness.

A visitation will be held Thursday, July 7, 2016 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Funeral services will also be held at Navarre Funeral Home Friday July 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston TX. Pallbearers will be Shawn Northrup, Bobby Baker, Bobby Lee Baker, Shawn Richard, Craig Bowman and Kevin Baker.
