Dorothy Nell Shirley

Nell was known for her boundless energy, positive attitude, loving nature, and love of family and fun. She brought smiles to faces and spread love and cheer to all who knew her. She had a palatable zest for life and unwavering devotion to her children. Her greatest joy was cooking for family and friends and gathering around the table. Her legacy will leave an indelible imprint in the hearts of many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Flora Davis; husband, Oran (OJ) Shirley; brothers, Harry and Cecil Davis; sister Juanita Hales; daughter-in-law Susan Vaught Shirley; and granddaughter Jackie Shirley Champion.

She is survived by sons, Michael Shirley and wife Pam, Steve Shirley and Randy Shirley; daughter Patricia Shoemaker and husband Kim. She also survived by 11 grandchildren, Angie and husband Shane, Barbi and husband Scott, Candi and husband Joey, Lisa and husband Trent, Scott and wife Rhonda, Amber and husband Evan, Craig and wife Sarah, Candice and husband Nathan, Nikki, Kiley and husband Matt, Amanda and husband Drew. Also 20 great grandchildren Lexi, Taylor, Zach, Luke, Cole, Rachael, James, Mattie, Mollie, Kathryn, Payton, Georgia, Susan, Owen, Collette, Liam, Faustin, Beth, Becca and Hannah. She also has 2 great great granddaughters Skyler and Hailey.

Visitation will be at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown on Tuesday, October 4, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. The service will be on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
