

He was born July 22, 1926 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to his late parents, Gustav Walden and Amelia Spooner Walden and lived in Minnesota most of his life before moving to Highlands 20 years ago.
Doug was the former longtime owner of Walden Brothers Lumber in Shakopee, Minnesota, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and enjoyed being with his family, fishing, hunting and vacationing.
Mr. Walden was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 55 years, Audrey Walden and a grandson, Brandon Walden.
Survivors include his daughter, Nancy Graham of Highlands, son, Steve Walden of Shakopee, Minnesota, brother, Dean Walden and his wife Jan of Naples, Florida and grandchildren, Andrea Huerta and her husband Juan of Highlands and Ryan and Brent Walden of Shakopee.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 17, 2008 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Baytown with Rev. Bonnie Parker officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Navarre Funeral Home.
