

Douglas Mac Jackson, 67, of Baytown, passed away Monday, April 19, 2010 in Baytown. He was born May 8, 1942 in Troup, Texas to his late parents, Verney Jackson and Roberta Whitesides Jackson and was the youngest of 9 children.
Mr. Jackson moved to Highlands as a child, lived the remainder of his life in the Baytown area graduating from Robert E. Lee High School in 1960 and went on to earn his degree in Business Administration from Lee College.
Douglas served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966 with service in Vietnam, married Dorothy ""Dottie"" Kissick on December 30, 1963, owned Jack's Hardware from 1982 until 2009 and was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. His biggest enjoyments were playing with his grandchildren, fishing and collecting ""stuff"".
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Cecil ""Bootsie"" Jackson, James Jackson and R. L. Jackson and sisters, Janis Adams and JoAnn Schmidt.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy ""Dottie"" Kissick Jackson of Baytown; sons, Richard Jackson and his wife Sonica of Austin and Robert Jackson and his wife Paula of Baytown; brother, William ""Sonny"" Jackson of Friendswood; sisters, Melba Williams of Baytown and Betty Lou Erwin of DeSoto, Texas; grandchildren, Logan and Tabitha Jackson of Austin and Taylor, Blake and Marshall Jackson of Baytown and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Memory Gardens with a memorial service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church with Dr. Richard Kleiman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Navarre Funeral Home.
