

Dwayne Edsel Wells, 65, of Mont Belvieu, loving father and devoted husband, was born June 3, 1949, in Abilene, Texas. He went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 16, 2015. Dwayne was a descendant of the pioneer families who settled the Concho River Valley near San Angelo, Texas. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Houston, Texas in 1968 and worked 26 years for ExxonMobil, retiring in 2004 as a supervisor.
Dwayne was an avid sportsman who loved to deer, dove, and especially quail hunt with his two sons, his brother and numerous close friends. He also enjoyed the occasional fishing trip and duck hunting trip when talked into it by one, or both of his boys. He enjoyed himself most when working or hunting with family and friends on the family ranch in Concho, Texas. Dwayne also loved to play golf and could be found many afternoons on the golf course with friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edsel and Pauline Wells. He is survived by his loving wife Karen Wells, who loved and cared for him deeply throughout their marriage and was with him every step of the way through his fight with cancer. Dwayne was so proud of his children, sons Jimbo Wells and his wife Kathy of Barbers Hill and Tony Wells and his wife Kimberly of Pearland; and stepdaughter Amanda Morgan of Houston. He is also survived by his granddaughter Rebecca Wells of Barbers Hill; his brother Wayne Wells and his wife Karen and their family of Oklahoma; and his lifelong friends Jack Thompson of Florida, high school friend, Bill McLeod and golf buddy, Jim Setley.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 24, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Jordan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish can make a donation to the Concho Cemetery Association fund in memory of Dwayne Wells by sending a check made payable to the ""Concho Cemetery Association,"" c/o Sandra Goehring, 11017 Lake Country Rd., Paint Rock, Texas 76866.
