Eliseo Garcia

Eliseo Garcia passed away July 20, 2026. Surrounded by his wife and family, longtime Baytown resident Eliseo Garcia passed away at home Monday, July 20, 2026. He was 86 years old. Eliseo was born Aug. 31, 1939, in Ciudad Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Regulo Garcia and Evangelina Cavazos de Garcia. While in his teens, he and his family immigrated to Hebbronville, Texas where he graduated from high school.

As a young man, Eliseo went to California and worked construction jobs to support his family and earn money to marry the love of his life, Martha Gonzalez. Married in 1966, the couple moved to Canoga Park, California where their son Eliseo Alberto was born. After a few years, they returned to Texas, settled in Baytown and the family expanded with the addition of daughters Veronica and Martha. Eliseo worked in industrial construction until he retired and was a proud member of the Laborers International Union. During retirement, he spent his time building bonds with his grandchildren, working on his many projects and hunting. He loved the outdoors and felt at home in the brushland of South Texas and northern Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents Regulo and Evangelina, his brothers Baldemar and Regulo Garcia, sister Martha Jaime and infant son Miguel Angel. He is survived by his wife Martha, son Eliseo Garcia (Gladys), and daughters Veronica McDowell (Ron) and Martha Cook. His eight grandchildren Gladys Murphy (Sean), Eliseo J Garcia, Daniela Corbett (Jon), John Cook, Christopher Cook, Erika Trent (Ethan), David McDowell and Sarahi McDowell and his six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, US, on July 25, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral will follow at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, US, on July 25, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Graveside services will take place at Earthman Memory Gardens, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, US, on July 25, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
