

Elizabeth Ruth Ford has now joined the presence of her Lord. Ruth had an interesting life as a switchboard operator at TV Station KPRC and U.S. Steel in Baytown. She received an associate degree at Southwestern Assembly of God College in Waxahachie, TX, and then was operator at the Assemblies of God headquarters in Springfield, MO. There were two highlights during her lifetime. One was time spent in Egypt where she had a special friend who referred to her as ""Mama Ruth"". Another was helping with a church plant in Comodoro, Argentina, by playing the piano during services. She was also involved in music ministry for many years including playing and singing for services and with the handbell choir at Trinity Assembly in Baytown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. J. O. and Ibbie Savell and her six brothers. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Bill Ford; her children, Cynthia Prentice and husband Rev. Paul Prentice, Judith Withrow and husband Dale, Douglas Oelfke, Jr., and Lisa Bagwell and husband Rev. Bart Bagwell; and her former husband and the father of her children, Douglas Oelfke, Sr. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Services will be Thursday, September 28, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Don Wiehe officiating. Burial will be private.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Ford, Larry Ford, Paul Prentice, Timothy Bagwell, Bart Bagwell and Andrew Bagwell.
Her family would like to thank the Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center - Baytown for their care as well as Encompass Hospice for their support.
