

Elizabeth Best Muennink, 90, of Baytown was born September 21, 1921 in Woodville, TX and passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012, in a local healthcare facility. She graduated from Sam Houston State University, where she received her B.S. and M.S. degrees. She was a member of Cedar Bayou Grace United Methodist Church and was a longtime volunteer at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. She was a Home Economics teacher at Cedar Bayou Junior School and retired from the Goose Creek School District. She was a past president of the Baytown A & M Mothers Club and the Baytown Home Economics Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mattie Best; daughter, Charylene Goin; and great grandson, Christian Shaffer. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Odis Muennink of Baytown; son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Monty Muennink of Fort Worth; daughter, Nancy Muennink Barnhill of Baytown; grandchildren and spouses, Yvonne and Kevin Mills of Prescott, AZ, Lori and Forrest Schweikhardt of Sugarland, Aggie and Sam Watson and Kendal and Andrew Tully, all of Fort Worth, Leean and Art Fordham of Baytown, and Amanda and Joey Lamberth of Livingston; and great grandchildren, Makenzie, Savannah, Emarie, Grant, Duncan, Mackennah, and Arwen.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 304 N. Pruett, Baytown, TX 77520 with Rev. Ken Goodell officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be her granddaughter's husbands.
