

She was a proud Baytownian loving to say she graduated Robert E Lee High School, class of 1951.
She loved cheering on the Ganders. Elodia went on to Massey Business College where she ended up working for the City of Houston Water Dept Collections.
She married Tony Alaniz and they spent time in Washington state and Los Angeles, California before moving back to Baytown to start a family.
Elodia retired from the GCCISD after 22 years, starting at San Jacinto Elementary and retiring from Carver Elementary. She will be remembered as a mentor to many.
You could always find Elodia at a Baytown election poll where she served multiple times as Election Judge. She enjoyed senior exercise class and other senior activities available at the Community Center.
She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and dances with her husband. Elodia was not one to turn down a social outing.
Elodia is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Maria, her sisters Alice DeHoyos (Ruben), Ofelia Balderas (Milton), and brother Benny Salinas.
Elodia is survived by daughters Teresa Alaniz and Jennifer Alaniz.
The family would like to thank New Light Hospice and the many friends for their support.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked to donate to the Dementia Society of America.
A visitation for Elodia will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, Texas 77521. A Rpsary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Graveside services will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Rd, Baytown, Texas 77521.
