March 17, 2018 marked the end of 88 years 7 months and 17 days of a life journey that began July 31, 1929. God blessed Henry and Persada Jefcoat with their beautiful daughter, Elsie. She was the second of 3 children. She was known to some as Miss Tis and to others, Miss Elsie but whether you knew her as Miss Tis or Miss Elsie you knew from her example how to be strong, determined, courageous and above all gracious. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Ocie, her younger brother Arthur and loving husband of 40 years Anthony Latrell Tisdale. Staying behind to celebrate her life are daughter, Deborah Wood and husband Dennis; daughter, Linda Carroll and husband Gary. Also celebrating the life and love of their beloved Mimi are grandson Christopher Wood and wife Jenni; Benjamin Wood; Michael Wood; Lloyd Carroll; as well as her doting great-grandchildren Christian, Jarrett and Jacob Wood; Alexa and Bryla Wood and Mylie and Zaylie Wood. She is also celebrated by her sister-in-law, Merle Jefcoat; niece Terese Johnson(Mark), nephew Bruce Jefcoat(Rita); great nephew Bryan Johnson(Michelle); Dalton Jefcoat; great, great nephew and niece Michael and Allie.
Elsie and Mr. Tis opened Tisdale Paint and Body Shop in 1966. Elsie ran the office and Mr. Tis fixed the cars. Everybody knew Mr. & Miss Tis. They depended on what customers told others about them and because of that they were never without work.
Keeping her yard well-manicured and flower beds looking perfect were just 2 of the things she loved to do. She also enjoyed sewing and embroidery. In her later years she became part of a group of ladies whom she loved dearly that met every Friday for game day. She also loved playing games with her great grandchildren, especially Yahtzee.
In October of 2016 Elsie began dialysis. That journey allowed her to give her daughters the gift of spending the last year and a half with them.
