

Emery ""Lefty"" or ""Tootie"" Touchet, 93, of Cypress, TX, formerly Baytown, was born May 9, 1922, in Henry, LA and passed away Friday, December 11, 2015. He was a U. S. Navy and U. S. Marine Corps veteran and a deacon and founding member of the Lakewood Church of Christ in Baytown. He went to work for the Humble Oil and Refining Co. in 1945 and retired in 1985. He played professional baseball for the St. Louis Browns, now the St. Louis Cardinals and then went on to play fast pitch softball for the Exxon teams.
He was preceded in death by father, Arthur Touchet and mother, Eva Bourque. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Neoma Touchet of Cypress; son and daughter-in-law, John and Beth Touchet of Cypress; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Jim Bell of Bryan; grandchildren, Joel Touchet, Kevin Touchet, Jamie Touchet Culpepper, and Mica McCallum Ham; and great grandchildren, Reagan Touchet, Emma Touchet, Katelyn Culpepper, Austin Ham, and Ella Ham.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery in Bayside, TX with Dr. Foy Campbell officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joel Touchet, Kevin Touchet, Jon Culpepper, Michael Ham, Jim Bell, David Hamilton, and Austin Ham.

Emery was a compassionate man and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who never met a stranger.
