Emilienne Frebourg McCoy was born on December 22, 1920 in Fecamp Normandie France. She passed peacefully in her sleep July 4, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years James Luther McCoy, her parents William & Helene Frebourg, her grandparents Oscar & Augustine Argentin and Emile & Martha Frebourg, brothers Jean, Roger, Rene, and sister Henriette and great great grandson James David Huckabay.
She is survived by son James P. McCoy and wife Brenda, daughter Helen Reavis and husband Jerry. Grandchildren Renee Simons, Dave Reavis and wife Donna, Emily Fowler and husband Lee, Theresa Huckabay and husband Mike, and Yvette Schultz.
Great Grandchildren Blake Simons, Justin Reavis, Garrett Reavis, Grace Reavis, Briley Blackshear and Brian Held, Trevor Blackshear, Austin Fowler, Avery Fowler, Jordan Fowler, Michael Huckabay and wife Ashley, Courtney Mckey and husband Heath, Tori Huckabay, Logan Schultz and wife Kelsey, Lucas Schultz, Cody Schultz.
Great Great Grandchildren Paisleigh Huckabay, Gunnar Huckabay, Madison Huckabay, Baylee Mckey, Waylon Mckey, Jameson Held.
Emilienne was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church where she had many dear friends.
As a young lady, she was a retail florist in Rouen and met a soldier named J.L McCoy on WWII Victory Day. They were married in Rouen France September 5, 1945. Emilienne left Le Harve on a war ship named USS Holbrook with 1,100 women that were all war brides. She came to America, landed in New York and lived with her in-laws in Amagon, Arkansas. A few days later J.L. arrived on a different ship. She knew once he got there that he was finally safe. She worked various jobs and retired from American Greeting card company at the age of 67.
Among her hobbies were gardening, cooking for others, fishing, and crocheting prayer shawls for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
