

Ernest Ramon Hamilton, age 85, born February 3, 1926 in Florence, Arkansas, to Ruben and Betty Hamilton, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, November 15, 2011. He fought a courageous battle with cancer with the love and support of his wife, Sharon, family, and friends.
He served in the US Army during WWII and the Korean War. He fought in 3 major battles in Central Europe, including the Battle of the Bulge and was a prisoner of war. He received medals for good conduct, service in the American and EAME Theater, and was awarded 3 Bronze Service Stars. During the Korean War, he was in 5 major battles and received 5 Bronze Service Stars.
He was a member of Baytown Revival Center, where he served on the Board of Trustees. He retired from Chevron Oil with 32 1/2 years of service. He took up golfing in retirement, finding a new hobby he loved. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a dear friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sharon Hamilton, the love of his life; his son and daughter in law, Randy and Liz Hamilton; his daughter and son in law, Janie and Larry Noller; grandchildren, Joshua Hamilton and his wife, Lisa, Jeremy Hamilton, Matt Noller, Anthony and Lucy Broussard, Jake and Chelsea Broussard, Nick and Donna Broussard, very special granddaughter, Haley Artis and 7 great grandchildren.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverends Donnie and Greg Harvey officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow at Memory Gardens in Baytown.
Pallbearers will be Carl Edwards Pitts, Randy Harvey, Lynn Walker, Willie Ray Harvey, Lloyd Roberts and Chad Garcia.
